The masonry fireplace hasn't changed much since the 1700's.  They are good looking, but severely out dated.

Wood burning Tulikivi fireplaces are unlike any fireplaces being built in the United States today.  Soapstone from Finland is the heart of these fireplace designs.  The density of the soapstone is perfect for storing heat.   A vigorous fire is burned once a day.  The soapstone absorbs the heat from the fire, stores it and releases this heat throughout the day.  Tulikivi fireplaces radiate throughout the day delivering warm and even heat. 

When the fire burns out completely, simply close the door damper.  The damper can usually be closed after 2 hours.  Your Tulikivi will continue to radiate a constant, even heat for 12 to 24 hours-without a fire burning!

Your Tulikivi Fireplace will be designed by Mid-Atlantic Masonry Heat.  It usually takes around  three months for it to arrive in this country.  It is then shipped to our warehouse.   Once the job site is prepared, we deliver the fireplace to your job site and spend the 2 to 4 days assembling your Tulikivi Fireplace.
